Chairman of TK International Limited (Toshali Group) Mr D P Bagchi was the former chief secretary and Chief Development Commissioner Government of Odisha an elite retired (IAS) civil servant of India. Mr Bagchi has rich experience and has worked in various positions in the central and state government. He was Chief Advisor and Secretary to Government of India Planning Commission.
He holds a Postgraduate Degree in Economics and Public Administration and Master's Degree in Economics from Utkal University and Master of Philosophy in Public Administration from Punjab University brings with him decades of practical experience in all aspects of the Indian experience. T Banambar Patra, the Managing Director and a member of the Board was born in the pilgrimage town of Puri, Odisha India. By the age of 20, Mr Patra had graduated in Commerce and started his first partnership business in wholesale & retail trading.
Mr. Patra always keen to develop tourism and his passion led to diversification into the hotel business. He launched Odisha's first World Class Resort, Toshali Sands, in 1985. This was a landmark in the tourism industry of the state.
Thereafter Shri T. Banambar Patra travelled extensively all over Europe, America & the Far East, promoting tourism and thereby increasing the flow of inbound traffic to India.
He also took a degree in resort operations & marketing, passing with distinction, from world's number one institute ”Ecolehoteliere” in Lausanne Switzerland, the undoubted leaders in the hospitality industry. No wonder that Toshali Sands was the first four star with ethnic look resort in India. Toshali Royal View started operations in 1999, making Toshali one of the few resort chains that offer both the serene beauty of the mountains and the turbulent charm of the sea to its loyal guests at Shimla and Puri.
He was First class in IA and BA (Hons) Examinations of Gauhati University and obtained First Class Master Degree from Delhi School of Economics in 1961 and Master of Public Administration Degree (MPA) from Harvard University, USA.
He was born in 1941 and joined IAS in 1964 in Assam Meghalaya Cadre. During his 5 year tenure as Secretary, Ministry of Tourism before retiring in December 2001, he put a new dimension to Tourism development by drafting the National Tourism Policy and launching the intensive marketing campaign Experience India which blossomed into the very successful Incredible India campaign. He was nominated in his personal capacity as Member of The Strategic Group of United Nation's World Tourism Organisation and was later appointed as its Honorary Permanent Representative in recognition of valuable contributions made to the development of Tourism. An internationally recognised Tourism Expert, he is the only Indian civil servant to be unanimously elected as the Chairman of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the largest tourism industry association in the world. In his 26 years of service in the North East - Assam, Meghalaya, North Eastern Council, he worked in almost all important sectors - such as Commissioner and Secretary for Departments of Home, Political, Assam Accord Implementation and Chairman of Assam Industrial Development Corporation (from 1986-1990), Chairman, Assam State Electricity Board, Commissioner and Secretary (Finance), Secretary(Education, Health) etc. Early in his career serving in the insurgency-torn, the then Lushai Hills District, he was caught in three rebel ambushes and earned Government commendation for ”exemplary courage” and ”Example to be emulated by other civil servants”.
Shri Bezbaruah has been Member/Chairman of numerous national/international organisations. He was the Chairman of the committee to look into the concerns of the people of the Northeast in the metro cities-popularly known as the Bezbaruah Committee.As Reserve Bank of India's Banking Ombudsman, Chairman, Committee on Ways & Means Advances to the States and member, Committee on Credit Deposit Ratio, he contributed to the financial sector reforms in the country. He is also Hony Director of Administrative Staff College of India.
DR B SAMAL, director of T K International Limited (Toshali Group) joined on 07/03/2012 as additional director and subsequently was elected as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the company. He is a post graduate in MSc (Agriculture), Phd in Economics and Diploma in Bank management. He has held some of the senior most and critical positions in the country's financial systems as well as its regulatory regimes including ex-chairman Allahabad Bank and Industrial investment bank of India. DR B SAMAL's experience has been multi-level and wide ranging on different facets of banking at national and international levels encompassing commercial, developmental and investment banking. DR B SAMAL presently serves as director on the boards of a number of Public limited companies.
Born on 15th October 1942 Mr. Harsh Gupta is a retired senior Indian civil servant, belonging to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), batch of 1966. He is an MA in Political Science (Allahabad) and MA in Economics (Development Studies) from Manchester University and belongs to an illustrious civil service family of North India. Mr Gupta served as Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh ; Chairman HP State Electricity Board Electricity Board, Additional Chief Secretary (Power and Industries) and Managing Director of the HPFC (State Financial Corporation). Besides initiating power sector reforms, he was actively involved with State's industrial policy and sector, promoting SME and private sector tourism development including promoting many hotel projects. Associated with apex industry associations like CII, FICCI & PHDCCI for much of his career, he functioned on the Boards of most of the State's public enterprises. In the Federal Government Mr. Gupta served in the Ministry of Commerce as Executive director, India Trade Promotion Organisation, Deptt. of Defence Production, (Public Enterprises division) and Ministry of Steel and Mines, Post-retirement Mr. Gupta functioned as Special Advisor, GOHP. On relocating to Delhi/Gurgaon he has been working as development sector consultant/ private sector corporate advisor and was assigned as PSE specialist in ADB's Assam Governance Program in Guwahati.
Mr Harsh Gupta has traveled widely in India and abroad, and is a member of many prestigious institutions. He is associated with TK International Limited as Director since 2009.
Shri T Narsingh Patra looks after the Sales & Operations of the company's Resort Division. Shri Patra is a professional in Resort operations with in-depth knowledge of the industry. He has traveled abroad extensively and was trained in operations and sales at the Hotel Management School, Lausanne, Switzerland. He is a regular visitor to important Travel Marts in Europe, which keeps him constantly updated in innovations in the travel and hospitality trade. Shri Patra is heading the marketing division of Toshali Tours and Travels.
He has extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of Time-share, Finance-foreign funds, foreign currency exposure, logistics, operation and management.
Earlier he steered the company's time share special purpose vehicle at Singapore for a period of 10 years and later he ventured into the business of baby care products and adult diapers.
Shri Santosh Kumar Subudhi is a Commerce graduate from BJB College, Bhubaneswar and with a MBA degree in Marketing. He has travelled frequently across Asia and specializes in the field of Marketing, Sourcing and Procurement.
Shri Santosh Kumar Subudhi is currently employed as Sourcing and Procurement Head at Xtracare Products Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore. Apart from this he looks after establishing private label business, online channels and strategic alliance.
