Urshin or Ursfin or Urdavisau. Tibetan form is Odivisa .Muslim chronicler Shamsi-Siraj-Afif, called it JajanagarUdissa. In Simhachalam votive inscription it is Odya desa. In 15th century records Odissa wa~ mentioned. In Sarala Mahabharata it is Odarastra or Odissa rastra. The extent of Odra rastra remained changing. The Chinese pilgrim Yuan Chwang called it U-cha, while it was Odi or Otivisa in the Pag SamJon Zang, the famous Tibetan text. Orissa legislative assembly.
