Mr. T. Banambar Patra, aged 52 belongs to the well known Patra family from Puri, Orissa, Graduated in commerce with a degree of Resort Operations and Marketing from an institute from laussane, Switzerland. Always keen to develop tourism and this passion of him led to diversification into the hotel line in 1982 and the opening of Orissa’s first world-class resort-Toshali Sands in 1985.
TO : How and when did you come into the hospitality industry?
TBP : Toshali came to the hospitality industry in the year 1985 with their flagship property at Puri. This is the first resort in the eastern region of such concert.
TO : Your resort has won the RCI hospitality award twice in a row. Your comments?
TBP : Our customers are delighted with our services which enable us to get the hospitality award on the basis of their feedback.
TO: Brief overview to Toshali Resorts International?
TBP : Toshali has the 2nd property at Shimal named Toshali Royal View Resort, which has been constructed a year back. We have presently 11 offices all over the country to offer our products to our customers.
TO: What do you think is the secret of the success of Toshali?
TBP : The success of Toshali is dedicated and sincerity along with the professional touch in the organisation to achieve the excellence in the industry.
TO : What are the future plans to Toshali?
TBP : The future plan of Tohsali to have another 9 more properties by 2010.
TO: How has the Govt. of Orissa been participating in the development of Tourism.
TBP : The Govt. of Orissa is participating very actively in the promotion of tourism. They have also changed their strategy to promote the destination jointly with the learned entrepreneurs of the state. Recently we promoted together in European markets brief the travel agent, tour operator and travel writer and the other individuals relating to the tourism fertility what else Orissa can offer.
TO: Which according to you are the places that can be developed as potential tourists attractions.
TBP: Historical destination of Orissa (such as temple, monuments) can be sold along with uniqueness of the wildlife along with Chilka an around Bhubaneswar and Puri to start with.
