Bhubaneswar: Barring Bhubaneswar, the recent Air Fare has recently been slashed in the country. Hoteliers fear that this might adversely affect the inflow of both Domestic and International Tourists. The percentage of Domestic Tourists is higher than International Tourists and those flying will now opt for Kalkata as the air Fare has not been slashed in Bhubaneswar. Orissa’s share of International Tourists is poetry 0.75 percent. One the Domestic front, Orissa receives 15 Lakh Domestic Tourists out of 20 crores annually. Tourism alone amount for R.s 550 crore annually and generates employment to 50,000 people undoubtedly, the Tourism promotion programme will receive a major boost and many people employed in the Tourism Industry will be made redundant.
