Swetaganga
Swetamadhava is worshipped in the bank pond Swetamadhava is worshipped in the bank of this pond Swetaganga. While taking bath in ‘Panchatrithas’ the devotees come here for ablution in this sacred pond. It is believed, there is an internal connection between Swetaganga and the river Ganges. Therefore one day ‘Ganga-varani-Yoga’ the water of Ganges flows into this pond and so that the mossy green water of this Pond becomes white. A legend has been framed that once a poor devotee could not afford to go the river Ganges for ablution. On the very day, he came to Puri and took a plunge there in the pond. Then, to his surprise, in the next moment he discovered himself with his friends taking ablution in a Ghat of the river Ganges. There are many other legends associated with this pond. This interesting story gives and impression to the devotees that there is a link between this pond and the river Ganges. So the people are urged to take bath here in order to get merits. It is close to the Jagannath Temple in Balisahi.
