Sonepur
Sonepur- Place, earlier called Suvarnapur,capital of the Somavamsi kings of South Kosala.Sometimes was called Sonepur Kataka. Some scholars describe it as Lanka or Paschima Lanka (Mahada copper plate grant) - deity Lankesvari is worshipped here. Stambhesvari temple, Jagannatha temple and Panchambari Bhadrambika temples are famous.
