Rajaguru S.N.- Historian and epigraphist - contributed largely to the recontstruction of Orissan history. Edited the Inscription of Orissa, worked as the Superintendent of Archaeology Deptt of Orissa Govt. Rajmahendri- A mediaeval fort situated in the Reddy kingdom (now in Andhra Pradesh). Ganga king Bhanudeva IV invaded iLHamvira, the son of Kapilendradeva Rajaraja ,- King - called Devendravarma,father of conquered and annexed it to Orissan kingdom in 1448AD. Krishnadeva Raya, the Vijayanagara king occupied it by defeating Raya Ramananda, the governor of Prataprudradeva.

This kingdom of Kalinga stretched from Ganjam to the Godavari river. Rajaraja 11-(1170-1194) and Rajaraja III (1198-1211) were Ganga kings. The latter was the son of Anagabhimadeva-II and his queen Baghalla Devi. During his rule muslim attack on Orissa for the first time and was repulsed. Rajarani temple -Beautiful and magnificent monument at Bhubanesvara -contains no deity-possesses- all the elements of a temple i.e,Jagmohan ,side niches, digpalas,navagraha slab and the vimana.The existence of door-keeper(Chanda, Prachanda) and the image of Lakukisa suggest it to be a Saiva shrine.

Somavamsi monument (1012-1044AD) Rajendra chola- Chola king who inflicted a defeat on Indraratha, the subordinate of Somavamsi king. Ramachandradeva- (1580-1609AD) King of the Bhoi dynasty, accepted the Mughal sovereignty by entering into a treaty with Raja Manshingh. Ramapala-Pala kings of Bengal (1077 -1120AD) He defeated Karnadeva, the last Somavamsi king of Utkala. In the struggle between Rampala and Chodagangadeva the latter won.
