BHOGA (FOOD) MANDAP
It is evident that Puri has become the centre of attraction for pilgrims all over India and a large number of visitors assembled to have a darshan of Lord Jagannath. So the King, could feel the necessity of feeding these pilgrims and sufficiently supplying them Bhoga and felt the urge of constructing a Bhoga Mandapa. For the preparation of such Bhoga (food) he also constructed the large Kitchen in the temple premises, which is unique in its construction. The kitchen is still being used for the preparation of Bhoga and thousands of people can get the prasad (Avada) every day.
