Nayagrah
Nayagrah
Nayagrah lies just off the central part of Orissa surrounded by jungles, wide rives and hilly tracts, Nayagarh has grown in leaps and bounds in the last decade. There has been a perceptible rise in population in the last few years. School, Colleges and Coating Institute have mushroomed and the roads are dotted with posters and advertisements on Bill-boards.
This bustling township lies in the tribal belt of Orissa. In the neighbouring areas there are many tribal settlements.
About twelve percent of the population in Nayagrah are of tribal origin. Before urbanization, Nayagrah was mostly a tribal district where the people continued to follow the age-old patterns of life designed by their ancestors. Increased urbanization has marginalized the tribal segment of the population who find it increasingly difficult to come to terms with modernity. However, some NGOS and Government run centres have made some difference in the lives of the people.
Nayagrah has vivid colours, a tranquil space and lush green vegetation. It is truly a sight for tired eyes. Like other places in Orissa, Naygrah has its share of Temple.
