Laxmi is no more
The ill fated “Laxmi” an elephant belongs to Banaras died on 5th August at Baligoradi near Chandanpur, Puri after a long 15 days illness. It was engaged by the Temple Administration on the eve of Rathyatra, and became ill on the way of its return to Banaras. The famous veterinary doctor Mr. J. Cherian of Kerala observed the condition of Laxmi and the entire treatment regarding the treatment was born by the state Govt. and by the Temple Administration. Thousands of local inhabitants were socked after the death of “Laxmi”.
