Lakulisa
Lakulisa- Founder of Pasupata sect of Saivism - belongs to the first century AD - born in Baroda- his teachings are codified in Lakulisa Siddhanta .His images are represented in Dharmachakrapravartana mudra with a Lakuta (stick) in one arm- his disciples are: Kausika, Gargya, Mitraka and Rusta.
The ruined Bhairava temple on the bank of Gangua river, Bhubanesvara contains the image of a four armed Lakulisa with jatajuta and snake F.R.: Linga Purana, Vayu Purana. Lalatendu Kesari- King of Orissan tradition -completed the construction of Lingaraja temple (Madala Panji). Lalatendu cave ia a rockcut cave in Khandagiri, Udayagiri hills - it contains an inscription of Udyota Kesari.
