Kedara, Kamodi, Bhupali, Bhimapalasi and Kalyan musics differ in tala. Muslim monuments of Cuttack-Jami Masjid of Balu Bazar is beautiful and known for its grandeur. Qudam-i-Rasul, the burial ground has a mosque. The Ujala Khan mosque of Mohmmadia bazar and Shahi Masjid of Brabati fort and tomb of Saint Shah Mansur at Lalbagh are remarkable.
Naanka Famine- Famine of 1866 -caused death of ten lakhs (one third of Orissa population }and distress for forty lakhs of people of coastal Orissa. It fell on the 9th regnal year of Gajapati Dibyasimhadeva - turning point of education, transport, communication and agriculture of Orissa- rise of political consciousness began. Nadhara- A village 30km from Dhenkanal town on Anugul road on the bank of Brahmani .Famous for Ramachandi, Hari-Hara shrines. Annual 3-day makara festival attracts large crowds.
