Kabir Chhata (Kabir Umbrella)
It is not unknown that Saint Kabir, in his own way, tried to establish friendly relation between the Muslims and Hindus, In his life time, he also visited Puri. He established his seat near Swargadwar. It is said, during his period of staying there the sea once crossed the shore. The people being terrified came to him for protection, Very soon Kabir affixed his umbrella on the ground and ordered the sea not to cross the shore. It is believed since then due to the spiritual power of Kabir the sea does not cross the shore and Puri town is well protected. The grave of Kabir exists here in a ruinous condition.
