Basumati Snama (17th June)
After the Rajo festival, Mahalakshymi symbolizing the Earth is made to take he rsacered bath with sacred water, flowers and sandalwood paste. And lots of Prasad is also offered to the mother Eather.
Sitala Sasthia (5th June)
It started from the forth day of the bright fortnight of Jyeshta (June-Jualy) and continues for 3 days. The marriage ceremony of Siva with Parvati is performed on this day every year. The villagers are too poor to construct a chariot. They place a wooden bull on two bullock-charts joined together. The images of the married couple are taken in a procession on beautifully carriages and take “Bhog or Prasad” at every door. This festival attracts a great gathering of people from the neighbouring villages with a skillful display of fire works.
Subsua Brata
This brata is adopted from Padma Purana and observed for good luck. The Purana and observed for good luck the Presiding Goddess is Mahalaxmi. On this day women worship Goddess Lakshmi and tie a piece of yellow thread with knot on their arm and read Sudusa-brata book (Purana). According to legend Raja Bikramadiya’s queen celebrated this vow and secured all the fortune for the royal family.
Snana Poornia (Snana Purnima)
The Ceremonial Bath of the deities Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, devi Subdhadra is regarded as Snana Poornima. After the bathing festival, the deities rest for fourteen days for treatment. This period is known as “Anabasara”.
