Eastern State Agency
Eastern State Agency - Twenty six feudatory states of Orissa and fourteen other stat.es from Central Province taken together constituted this agency in 1933. It was administered by a resident (Agent of Governor- General) with his headquarters. at Ranchi. Under him one political agent for Orissa states with headquarters at Sambalpur, and another for C.P. states with head Qrs. at Raipur. Later on, the Agency was divided into (i) Bengal State Agency and (2) Orissa State Agecy- all under the same Resident.
