Dhakulie Melan (Fair) at Pratap Nagar
Pratap Nagar of Cuttack district round the year witnesses’ major fairs and festivals observed with much enthusiasm. Among with Dhukulei Mela (Fair0 is considered as a popular festival of the Goddess Dhakulei. Usually celebrated during the month of Chaitra (April-May0, this year also the fair started from April 27th to 1st May.

After finishing the ‘Puja’ and the other ritual of the Goddess, at night the devotees take the Goddess in ax grand procession through the village. Next day the Goddess again reaches the village. During the procession, people pay their homage by offering ‘Prasad’ from around 300 houses.

Lakhs of devotee gathered here to get the blessing from Goddess ‘Dhakulei’ and offered their devotion. The Cuttack Development Authority took every possible measure for the devotees coming from various parts of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and near-by areas.
