Dakhinaparsava Matha
A road leads from the Simhadwara, i.e., the Lion’s Gate to the Southern door of the Jagannath Temple where stands a gigantic image of Mahavir Bajaranga Vali Hanuman, the famous fighter of the Ramayan war. By going on this road to the Emara Matha there is another road to the sea shore, Swarga dwara, the cremation ground of Puri. After approaching this road and taking a turn towards the Sourthen door, mentioned above, one can go to the Dakhinaparsava Matha. It is an old Matha where Sri Ramadasa, the preceptor (Guru) of Chatrapati Sivaji Maharaj of Maharastra stayed while visiting the Temple of Jagannath. The art and architecture found here is very unique.
