Brahmani. River- originates from the confluence of Sankha and Koel rivers at Vedavyasa near Panposh in Sundargarh district. Ancient name: Sankhajyoti, Brahmi - passes through Anugul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Kendrapara districts and meets the Bay of Bengal at the Papyras point. Many monuments and archaeological sites on its banks, such as Bajrakota, Bhimakand, Saranga, Kualo, Ratnagiri and Dharmasala areas. A sacred river, mentioned in puranas.
