Bhaumakara Dynasty
Bhaumakara DynastyRuled from 8th centruy AD upto 10th century in Tosali-capital Guhadeva Pataka or Guhesvara Pataka, near Jajpur- founded by Ksemankaradeva in 736 A.D. The last rulers were queens such as Dandi Mahadevi., Vakula Mahadevi and Dharma Mahadevi. The dynasty was overthrown in 931 A.D by the Somavamsi ruler, Yayati I - patronised Buddhism and Saivism - decentralised state authority to sub-regional mandala feudatory states.
