Bhapur: Shree Gopaljeu Math at Gadakhola
On the way to Kantilo, one can visit the Shrine of Bhapur with two famous markets Kala Pathar and Dhala Pathar. In the Bhapur sub-division of Nayagrah district, is located Tarabola which is famous for a cluster of hot springs dotted over an area of 8 acres. It is around 75 kms from Bhubaneswar and a breezy place for an outing. It is well connected to Bhubaneswar by road.
Picturesquely carved out of the religious monuments is another attraction of the Bhapur blocks of Nayagrah district. The village Gadakhola, situated at 14 kms away from Khandapada is famous for the Shree Gopaljeu Math. Today Gadakhola is popularly called Goobardhan Prasad located under the mountain ‘Gopaljeu Munda’. This Math belongs to the Nimbark community. The other name is Nagapitha (the place of Naga Sants) or Mahanta Gadi.
Built in a similar fashion on the lines of the Shree Jagannath Temple of Puri, this Math’s main gate looks like a perfect piece of sculpture. The man door made up of brass enhances the beauty of this Math. Within the Temple one can have the glance of Lord Gopaljeu along with Lord Ram, Lakshman and Sita, Radha Krishna and Hanuman made up of eight different metals.
Besides this Gopaljeu Math, there are other seven maths which attract many devotees.
